76ers’ Joel Embiid: ‘I’m not made of glass’ after big-time tumble

A collective gasp from Philadelphia was heard ‘round the world Wednesday night when 76ers big man Joel Embiid took a tumble over James Harden late in the fourth quarter against the Rockets.

Though the 23-year-old sensation has dealt with numerous injuries in his young career, Embiid wants everyone to understand he can handle the physical demands of the sport.

“Everybody gotta stop being scared. I’m not made of glass,” Embiid told reporters when asked about the collision with Harden. “That’s basketball. I gotta make some plays.”

Embed scored 21 points on 8-of-13 shooting, grabbed six rebounds and blocked a pair of shots in 24 minutes. However, the Sixers lost to Harden’s Rockets, 105-104.
