Anthony Davis’ recent injury isn’t as bad as it looked.
Although the Pelicans announced their star forward will sit out the team’s Monday night matchup against the Warriors after being diagnosed with a left adductor strain, he won’t miss extended time. He is listed as day-to-day after an extensive evaluation and an MRI revealed no structural damage.
Davis suffered the left pelvis injury in Friday’s loss to the Jazz as he battled for a rebound and had to be helped off the court, though the team initially believed he had suffered a groin injury.
Davis, 24, is averaging 25.2 points and 11.0 rebounds in 21 games this season. The four-time All-Star is also the NBA’s eighth-leading scorer and eighth-leading rebounder.
