Antonio Brown injury update: Steelers WR expected to play Sunday despite illness

Just when it looks like Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown is healthy again, he faces another issue that kept him off the practice field Friday. However, coach Mike Tomlin indicated Brown is expected to play Sunday.

Brown was sent home from practice due to an illness completely unrelated to his calf injury, which kept him sidelined for the final two regular season games of the year, but he was a full participant Wednesday and Thursday.

The Steelers have remained optimistic that Brown would return for the playoffs coming off of a partially torn calf muscle sustained against the Patriots in Week 15, and Tomlin said he had seen enough out of Brown’s last two practices to believe he’ll be on the field against the Jaguars.

“I think we’ve all seen Antonio play enough that we know what he’s capable of,” Tomlin said, per ESPN.com.
