Astros' Dallas Keuchel pitched two months with foot injury, report says

Astros starting pitcher Dallas Keuchel pitched with an undisclosed foot injury the final two months of the season, ESPN reported Wednesday, citing multiple unidentified sources.

Keuchel was seen in a walking boot Saturday and told TMZ he suffered the injury during the Astros’ World Series parade. This story appears to not be true.

ESPN’s sources said Keuchel was dealing with plantar fasciitis for a good portion of the second half of the season, but pitched through the problem. It should be noted he was hurt while playing baseball, it was not an off-the-field injury, so he would not have lost any money because of it.

The 2009 seventh-round pick’s season can be broken down in two parts: the first half during which he threw 75 2/3 innings and posted a 1.66 ERA, and the second half when he pitched 69 1/3 innings with a 4.28 ERA.
