Ben McAdoo isn’t making any changes at quarterback.
The Giants coach reiterated his faith in veteran QB Eli Manning and confirmed he will remain the team’s starter despite New York’s disappointing season.
“He’s our quarterback,” McAdoo told reporters Monday, via Newsday. “I have a lot of confidence in Eli. That hasn’t changed.”
Manning has started 207 consecutive regular-season games for the Giants and is one start shy of tying his brother Peyton for second on the all-time list. Still, he’s struggled since losing wide receivers Odell Beckham Jr. and Brandon Marshall to season-ending injuries and could be on the verge of being benched after the team’s 51-17 home loss Sunday to the Rams.
“That doesn’t mean at some point in time we won’t throw another guy in there to get a look at,” McAdoo added, via NFL Insider Ian Rapoport.
The Giants (1-7) are scheduled to visit the winless 49ers (0-9) for 4:25 p.m. ET game Sunday,
