Even when Charles Barkley is doing something very good (and serious), he has to have fun with it.
Barkley said Thursday during “Inside the NBA” that he’s donating $1 million to women of color in Alabama after they helped elect Democratic candidate Doug Jones to the U.S. Senate in a special election vs. Republican Roy Moore. Barkley campaigned for Jones late in the race.

There are conditions attached to the money, however, and Barkley tried to be playful as he laid them out:
It’s good that you want to strengthen technology in your home state, Chuck, but “no weave shops”? That might have had Shaq rolling in his chair, but don’t step on the message like that.
Not that optics matter a lot to Sir Charles.
“I just like to have fun,” Barkley said.
