Jay Ajayi thinks the Cowboys did more than slump in Week 11.
In fact, the Eagles running back believes the Cowboys flat out quit sometime in the third quarter of Sunday’s 37-9 loss at AT&T Stadium.
“Definitely,” Ajayi said after the game, via SportsDay. “We got it like a mindset kind of like you felt it close to the third, early fourth like we kind of had our way with them. And it was over after that.”
Ajayi, who was traded from Miami to Philadelphia in exchange for a fourth-round draft pick on Oct. 31, finished with 91 yards on seven carries in the victory as the Eagles totaled 215 yards on the ground.
The Eagles trailed 9-7 at halftime but came out of the tunnel for a monstrous second half in which they outscored the Cowboys 30-0, including three touchdown drives of 75 yards or more.
“We kind of were a little bit asleep I’d say in the first half,” Ajayi said. “Woke up in the second and got to our run game and just dominated after that.
“We wanted to come out here and get the Cowboys because it’s always fun beating America’s Team at their place.”
The soaring Eagles (9-1) are set to host the Bears (3-7) in Week 12, while the Cowboys (5-5) will look to snap their two-game skid as they prepare for another home game against the Chargers (4-6) on Thanksgiving Day.
