One Rockets player is confident Houston can beat the Warriors. In fact, he has little doubt.
“I expect to beat them,” Clint Capela told Bleacher Report in a feature published Wednesday.
Houston’s confidence is sky-high amid a 10-game winning streak. They currently have the best record in the NBA (21-4) and Capela is a big reason for their early-season successes.
The 2014 first-round pick is averaging career-highs in points (13.7), rebounds (11.0) and blocks (1.8). He is also 12th in the NBA in defensive rebounds per game (7.8). The Rockets lead the league in defensive rebounding percentage after finishing 21st last season.
Capela is obviously integral in the Rockets’ rebounding strides and one of the biggest reasons Houston feels they can dethrone the Warriors from their Western Conference perch.
“It’s gonna be tough to slow us down,” Rockets guard Eric Gordon said, while acknowledging “it’s gonna be tough to slow [the Warriors] down. It comes down to who’s gonna play better defense, who’s gonna also secure the rebounds so they don’t have as many possessions.”
