I-League: Luis Matos explains why Aniket Jadhav didn’t participate in AFC Under-19 qualifiers

Indian Arrows brushed aside the Chennai City FC challenge in Goa as they registered a 3-0 win on Wednesday evening. Aniket Jadhav was the star of the evening as he scored a brace in the second half.

Interestingly, Aniket started the opening Under-17 World Cup tie against USA before being benched in the subsequent games. He was also snubbed for the AFC Under-19 qualifiers in Saudi Arabia.

Matos shared his reasons as to why Aniket didn’t make the cut for the qualifiers in Saudi Arabia earlier this month and the improvement in the striker’s game since then.

“I know the relation I have with my players and I know how I want them to give their maximum. Sometimes I need to push a player to play how I want to play collectively. That’s why he was not in Saudi Arabia with us.  But I told Aniket that he will be with us for the I-League,” he reasoned.
