GAME PREVIEW

Lalrindika Ralte NorthEast United FC Jamshedpur FC ISL Season 4 2017/2018

While Jamshedpur FC could have snatched more than just two points from their double fixtures away from home soil, Steve Coppell would be satisfied with the unbeaten record and clean-sheet maintained by his troops. Now, the focus for the Men of Steel will shift to clinching full points from home ground.

Custodian Subrata Paul’s presence will be pivotal as Jamshedpur FC’s full-backs remain shaky. The onus will be on Kervens Belfort to kick start the goal tally for the ISL debutants, especially after he came close to registering one in the dying moments of the last tie. Also, Nigerian forward Izu Azuka would be expected to be more productive with Brazil-born Matheus Trindade supporting him.

As for the visitors, they will need to work more on their defensive organisation than the attacking nature, having conceded as many as four goals at VYBK Stadium in Kolkata. Debjit Majumder will have to be finer between the sticks and efficiency would be desired from the attackers in the final-third.

Placed ninth on the points table with just a point to show, ATK’s strikers Robin Singh and Njazi Kuqi will need to capitalize as much as possible whenever space or chances are gifted to them.

With both sides hungry to grab a goal, it will be an intriguing affair on Friday evening which will see JRD Tata Sports Complex host an Indian Super League match for the first time.
