Lakers coach Luke Walton got a little creative with practice on Tuesday.
Walton made his players do “penalty runs” based on how many turnovers were committed during the team’s scrimmage, according to a report from Spectrum SportsNet.
The Lakers are currently last in the league with 17.5 turnovers per game and Walton wants to drive home that careless play is unacceptable with old-fashioned sprints.
If you’re wondering how Lonzo Ball faired in that challenge, it apparently went pretty well. Ball said his team only had to do one set of suicide sprints, which means they only made one turnover during the scrimmage.
