A NASCAR power couple has split after spending five years together.
Drivers Danica Patrick and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. have ended their relationship, which started shortly before they began their NASCAR Cup Series rookie seasons in 2013.
A spokeswoman for Patrick confirmed the split to the Associated Press, but requested privacy for the two drivers who have not commented yet.
Stenhouse attended Patrick’s emotional press conference in mid-November when she announced plans to retire from driving, however, he attended the Nov. 30 awards ceremony in Las Vegas alone, leading some to speculate their relationship was coming to an end.
Their relationship started following Patrick’s first marriage. Patrick announced in November 2012 that she planed to divorce her then-husband Paul Hospenthal after being married for seven years, and the divorce was finalized in April 2013.
