Patton Kizzire hung on Sunday to win the OHL Classic at Mayakoba after shooting a 4-under 67 to finish the tournament at 19 under.
Kizzire earned his first PGA Tour win by making a difficult par on the par-4 18th after hitting his drive near a fairway bunker. Rickie Fowler had just made two straight birdies to get within one shot of the lead, but Kizzire calmly hit his second shot on the green.
Though Kizzire had two runners-up finishes to his name on the PGA Tour, he had never been able to seal the deal. That changed Sunday.

Fowler settled for second place at 18 under, but he made a spirited charge on the back nine, birdieing three of his last six holes. Fowler, making his 2017-18 season debut, fired four straight rounds in the 60s this week.
The leaders had to play 36 holes Sunday after rain halted most of the third round.
Si Woo Kim, reigning Players Championship winner, shot a 6-under 65 in Round 4 to finish third at 15 under. A double-bogey on the par-4 14th derailed his chance to win this week.
Martin Piller and Charles Howell III tied for fourth at 14 under.
