Raiders player tells ref he was 'just kidding around' after personal foul penalty

Raiders tight end Lee Smith was handed a 15-yard personal foul penalty during Sunday’s game against the Dolphins.

Smith appeared to channel his inner little kid as he was caught on the referee’s microphone pleading his case, “I was just kidding around!”

Smith was in fact, just kidding around, faking a hit on Dolphins’ defensive tackle Davon Godchaux.

This was the “unnecessary roughness” for which Smith was flagged:
