Shapovalov shows basketball skills, moving from hard courts to hardwood for a day

We already know about Denis Shapovalov’s exploits on the tennis court. Now we have insight into Shapo’s game on the basketball court.

Canada’s teen tennis sensation prepped for his first-round win over Rogerio Dutra Silva at the ASB Classic in Auckland on Monday by playing some hoops over the weekend with fellow ATP Next Gen standouts Hyeon Chung and Stefanos Tsitsipas and members of the SKYCITY Breakers professional basketball team.

The on-court fun — which featured Shapo’s slick playmaking skills and outside lefthanded jump shot — took place at the team’s morning workout before a game later on against Cairns Taipans. Shapovalov, Chung and Tsitsipas all attended the game as guests of the team.
