The Tennessee State player who began punching the team’s strength coach during a game has been arrested and charged with felony assault, the Tennessean reported.
Latrelle Lee, 22, was caught on video attacking T.J. Greenstone on the sideline during a Nov. 11 game against Southeast Missouri State. Video shows Lee punching the coach twice in the face and knocking him to the ground.
Lee was immediately kicked off the team and has since been expelled from Tennessee State. Online records show Lee was booked around 8 p.m. Monday and released at 10:40 p.m. after posting a $7,500 bond.
“Once struck about the face by the defendant, the victim fell to the ground and was dazed and somewhat unconscious from the punches,” the arrest affidavit read. “The victim has subsequently been having medical difficulties as a result from the altercation.”
Lee has been charged with aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury and is set to appear in court Dec. 8.
