Vance Joseph moving forward with expectation to return as Broncos coach

Even after a rough first season on the job, Vance Joseph is moving forward under the expectation that he will return for a second year as Denver Broncos head coach.

A source told Sporting News that Joseph has made plans for assistant coaching changes following Sunday’s season-finale against Kansas City. Joseph already has lined up at least one interview this week for a pending staff replacement, the source said.

However, it is unknown whether Broncos football czar John Elway will be retaining Joseph himself for another season. After a promising start, the Broncos enter the Chiefs game with a 5-10 record that includes an eight-game losing streak.

Joseph already made one major in-season coaching move when he fired offensive coordinator Mike McCoy last month.
