Wild’s Nino Niederreiter completes hat trick early in second period against Sabres

Nino Niederreiter scored early and often for the Minnesota Wild on Thursday night.

Niederreiter tallied a hat trick 4:02 into the second period in Minnesota’s matchup with the Buffalo Sabres at Xcel Energy Center.

Niederreiter opened the scoring just over a minute into the game when he received a pass from Michael Granlund and sent the puck past Buffalo goalie Robin Lehner.

With 6:07 to play in the first period, Niederreiter extended the Wild’s advantage to 3-0 with his second goal of the game.

Granlund again assisted on Niederreiter’s third tally of the contest. This time, he poked Granlund’s pass into the corner of the net to record his second career hat trick.

Niederreiter has totaled 13 goals so far this season. The Wild topped Buffalo 6-2.
